Grow out your goatees and break out the horn-rimmed glasses.

The 11th Annual SF Independent Film Festival runs Feb. 5th-22th and features over 100 independent films. Showcasing local and internationally acclaimed filmmakers, the films range in genre from narrative to documentary.

The SF IndieFest will host the world premier of several films, including Abraham Obama, based on the widely circulated pop-art image of Abraham Lincoln and Barack Obama's heads juxtaposed as one. In the film, artist Ron English mass-produces the image and embarks on cross-country, grass roots campaign effort, posting the image wherever he goes - sometimes in an illegal fashion.

There will be themed nightly events throughout the festival, many free or discounted with a film festival ticket stub. A perennial favorite, The Big Lewbowski Party, Feb. 7th, 8:00pm - 2:00am at CellSpace - has become an IndieFest tradition for the past 5 years. Enjoy themed drink specials (White Russians) and games (bowling), and watch the cult-classic projected on the wall. Admission is $10, $5 dressed as your favorite Lewbowski character, and free with any ticket stub.

The opening night party will be at CellSpace from 9:00pm -1:00am. The evening will feature live performances by the Extra Action Marching Band and Live Evil. Tickets to the party are $10 at the door, $5 if wearing costume, or free with any IndieFest ticket stub or advance ticket receipt.

Want to support SF IndieFest? Come to the benefit and launch party on January 23rd at the Elbo Room from 9:00pm - 2:00am. There will be festival previews, beer specials and live performances by The Shotgun Wedding Quintet, The Ex-Boyfriends and Pollo del Mar.

Individual ticket prices are $10 in advance for all shows, and $11 at the door. Discounted multi-film vouchers are also available. 5-film vouchers are $45, 10-film vouchers are $85, and for $200 you can purchase a Festival Pass, good for entry to all festival screenings, parties and events.

Screenings will be at the Roxie Cinemas, 3117 16th Street in San Francisco, the Victoria Theater, 2961 16th Street in San Francisco and Shattuck Cinemas, 2230 Shattuck Avenue, in Berkeley

The line-up and show times are not yet finalized, but will be published on the IndieFest website when the schedule is complete. You can contact IndieFest at info@sfindie.com for additional information and to purchase tickets.
