With all the hubbub surrounding Animal Collective's new album, Merriweather Post Pavilion - which is generating Radiohead worthy fainting and drooling - the cancellation of the band's January shows at the Troubadour and the Henry Fonda Theatre almost caused an emo-worthy seismic vibration across Sunset Blvd.
First and foremost, Avey Tare, the band's founding member, is feeling much better. Thank goodness. Fans will not have to wait until the band's May 29th show at the Wiltern to get their fix on home turf. The Animal Collective concerts have been rescheduled for this month, February 26th at the Fonda, and the 27th at Troubadour. This doesn't mean laggers who suddenly realized the band's music means so much to them can now get tickets. Both shows continue to be sold out. But there's always scalpers, ebay and holding your ear against the venues' shut doors. Well, the Fonda tends to carry into the street, so that's cool.
