15 years ago, the San Francisco nightlife scene was just becoming known, and most of the parties that were thrown were underground parties in sketchy warehouses in Soma. Now, many parties have moved to upscale clubs, where world-famous DJs grace the tables and the weekend is a chance to get noticed. While there are many factors as to how this evolution was achieved, one stands out as a major catalyst to the San Francisco clubbing scene: Spundae.

Founded in 1993 in San Francisco by Peter and Guiv, Spundae's goal was to "expose electronic dance music to San Francisco's club scene." And expose they have: In the past ten years, they have sponsored some big names at big venues, such as Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Sasha, John Digweed, Ferry Corsten, and countless others. All these artists who have played at a Spundae events usually play at wildly popular venues like Ruby Skye, a testament to Spundae's reach as a promoter. Spundae has since expanded to Los Angeles, with popular DJs playing weekly sets at Avalon, as well as Las Vegas and San Diego.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of Spundae, and Peter and Guiv want to make it a memorable year for the events promoter. They plan on holding a two-day event at Ruby Skye on Thursday, March 6 and Friday, March 7. Both nights, which start at 10:00 PM and will go until late in the evening, and will feature James Zabiela and Deadmau5 on Thursday and Gabriel & Dresden (with a special 4-hour set), Alain Octavo, and Syd Gris on Friday. Needless to say, this weekend will be one of Spundae's most memorable.

In conjunction with Spundae, Metrowize is giving away two tickets for both nights in our contest section, so be sure to sign up and be a part of what will be a big big weekend!
