Atmosphere 2008 Tour Announced
By: Andre B. 03/03/08One of the most well-known underground rap groups, Atmosphere, will be touring the U.S starting in April. The group will be performing in over 15 cities--including two in each San Francisco and Los Angeles--in conjunction with the upcoming release of their sixth full-length album, When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold. Hailed by Entertainment Weekly as "poetic, preachy, and provocative," Atmosphere is one group you won't want to miss.
Rapper Slug and DJ Ant have been producing albums since 1997, but broke through in the underground scene with their 2002 and 2003 releases of "God Loves Ugly" and "Seven's Travels." Since then, the Minneapolis-based group has received critical acclaim for Slug's deeply personal, often poetic style of rapping that is far more honest and textured than the mainstream hip hop we hear today.
Atmosphere will be touring 21 shows in 30 days, starting in their native St. Paul and ending in Colorado. Ticket prices will vary from venue to venue, and will all be sold via Ticketmaster or the venue's website. The full lineup of shows is:
