San Francisco Guide to Partying
Name: DNA Lounge
Address: 375 11th St. (map it)

You might think you're walking into to a giant bomb shelter when go to DNA Lounge. The concrete grey, windowless building is one of the only clubs in the SOMA club district (11th/Folsom) that doesn't get noise complaints from the neighbors, despite the fact that it's regularly open till 5AM.

DNA Lounge is a venue for the marginalized masses. Bohemian carnivals, psy-trance all nighters, mash-up parties, and other "don't call it a club night" club nights. Year's back, this was the best venue in the country for Psycadelic Trance, courtesy of promotion team called Thump. Today, there are two parties worth checking the calendar for, Bootie (that's the Mash Up party) and Remedy, (a long running house party). Bootie is a widely successful event with a great mix of people always jam packed. Remedy is a monthly event for people that really love house music. Go-go dancers, break dancers, live drums, and great music. It's a true community of loyal house music enthusiasts and one of the best promoter driven events running in SF.

The venue itself is pretty impressive considering it's no frills exterior. Great dance floor, wrap around Mezzanine, three bars, and two rooms. Drink aren't too expensive and the bartenders have been there forever, they know what they're doing. Even though it's predominately concrete and steel, there's enough seating and lounge-like brenches so you feel like you could hang out all night. If you find yourself in the 11th street area of SOMA, this is the place to be after 2 AM. Check out the DNA website for archived show footage and schedules.
