There are only a few places in America where there is a raging party at 8AM on a Sunday morning. The End Up (appropriately named), is open for partying most evenings, but it earns it's reputation as the place to be if your one of the few partiers that closes down the late night venues around town and you need to find the next place to go. Round 5:30AM on a Friday and Saturday nights, there only one place in SF with a line, that's the End Up.
During normal party hours the End Up is predominately a Gay bar. Since no venue in San Francisco can legally serve alcohol between 2-6 in the morning, the End Up conveniently re-opens their bar at 6AM. The city makes sure that this is not a widely supported club concept, allowing the End Up to exist but discouraging other venues from doing the same. Inside the End Up, there is a small dance floor, pool table, chill out space and outdoor area that grills up food as the day begins. I was recently at the End Up listening to an 10 AM Set from Desyn Masiello, drinking a bloody marry and eating a rabbit sandwich on the outdoor patio. While many hadn't slept, there was a contingent of people that just felt like dancing, first thing in the morning. Sunglasses, tweakers, and lots of smiles is the norm at the End Up. Whether you stay up all night, wake up at the crack of dawn, or are just looking for a party vibe at 7AM, there is only one place (that's advertised to the public), that will be high energy and open, and that's the End Up.
