Guide to Outdoor Drinking in Chelsea

Sure, for most of us, our typical Friday or Saturday night (or in our case both) consists of us drinking the stress of the week away and partying 'til the sky starts turning light again. However, when the weather is warm, it’s always nice to spend a little time boozin' outdoors during the hours that the rest of the world is awake. Next time you find yourself needing to get a little saucy in the sun in Chelsea, give one of these spots a whirl.

The Frying Pan

Before The Frying Pan became a hip dive bar almost a decade ago, it quietly rested at the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay. For three years, in fact, the sunken lightship nestled under the crashing waves of the bay before it was salvaged and turned into a bar. The inside of the ship is still encrusted with barnacles which tell the tales of the ship’s submerged past. The deck of the boat is open to the beautiful bay breeze of Pier 66. Next time you’re thinking about getting tipsy during the day, set sail for The Frying Pan.
