The 9th annual How Weird Street Faire is back and bigger than ever. The Street faire, which organizers call "an experiment in creating peace and a benefit for the non-profit World Peace Through Technology Organization," has attracted over 10,000 people to their event nearly every year since its inception. Hundreds of vendors will be showcasing their crafts, and music from groups like Deep End, Symbiosis, Space Cowboys Om Records, and Opulent Temple will make this a memorable event.
The event, which will take seven-block-block radius near Howard Street and 1st street, will be happening on Sunday, May 4th from 11 am to 6 pm. At 6, the faire will move indoors to several locations like Club NV, Temple, Supperclub, 111 Minna Gallery, and more. Food, music, and crafts will be on full display for the whole day.
The faire will also look to support sustainable actions and education. This year, the faire is maximizing recycling and composting, aiming for zero waste. All food vendor supplies will be compostable and biodegradable, and all of the power will be run on biodiesel. If there's one motto for the faire, it would be "Rethink, reduce, reuse, compost, recycle."
