On July 4th weekend, the inaugural Rothbury Festival will be happening, with over 70 bands on 8 stages and most certainly features one of the most eclectic music festivals of this season. It's also the only festival in which Dave Matthews Band is slated to play, but with John Mayer, Snoop Dogg, Modest Mouse and STS9 also headlining, there is most certainly something for everyone at this festival in Michigan.

Located on the Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury, Michigan (3 hours west of Detroit), this new festival's goal is to harness the unique energy of the live music community into a social movement toward climate change and clean energy alternatives. In addition to the diverse bands that are playing, Rothbury will host a think tank and energy fair, which will feature audience participation opportunities.

The lineup for this year's event is absolutely star-studded: DMB, Widespread Panic, Snoop Dogg, STS9, John Mayer, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Thievery Corporation, Phil Lesh and Friends, Slightly Stoopid, Of Montreal, Crystal Method, Diplo, and Brett Dennen are playing, just to name a few. All in all, over 70 bands will be playing for these four days.

Festival participants can either camp on-site or stay in the hotels near the festival grounds. Tickets for the weekend (July 3-6) start at $244.75, with VIP weekend tickets starting at $475. For more information, full lineup list, and to purchase tickets, check out the Rothbury Festival Website.
