San Francisco Bars - Hot Hotel Lounges Pt.2

As a follow-up to our first installment of hot hotel lounges in San Francisco, here is a second edition revealing more hotel hot spots frequented by city residents and travelers alike. Hotels offer top-of-the-line customer service and often mix some of the most highly regarded specialty cocktails in the city.

Bar 333 - 333 Battery Street
Surrounded by beautiful views of the city, Le Méridien’s elegant Bar 333 quietly sits in the middle of San Francisco’s Embarcadero district. Signature cocktails, including the popular 333 (vodka, lime, mint and star anise) and prickly pear margaritas (made with fresh cactus juice), are enjoyed at the bar or one of the many comfortable couches. The second room, known as the Library, is equipped with flat-screen televisions and large tables for big groups.

Fifth Floor Restaurant - 12 Fourth Street
Fifth Floor Opened in 1999, the Palomar Hotel’s Fifth Floor Restaurant has since been noted as one of “America’s 50 Best Hotel Restaurants” by Food & Wine and one of the “Top 60 Hotel Restaurants” by Gourmet magazine. Whether you’re coming to enjoy the fine dining experience or just hang out at the dark wood bar for a few cocktails, the service is unparalleled and the drink selection is vast. Sommelier Emily Wines directs the massive wine selection, which boasts 1,400 bins and twenty by-the-glass offerings.

Tonga Room - 950 Mason Street
Full of action and entertainment, the Fairmont Hotel’s Tonga Room is a tropical getaway with live performances, dancing and surprise rainstorms. Enjoy Pacific Rim Asian cuisine or simply sidle up to the bar for their infamous Mai Tai, credited as “the City’s best” version of the tropical beverage. The Tonga Room’s award winning happy hour (Monday-Friday from 5pm-7pm) features an extensive all-you-can-eat buffet and cocktail specials.

Caruso’s - 335 Powell Street
Comfortably located in the chic Tower lobby of the Westin St. Francis, Caruso’s is a casual spot for quick bites, meals and various beverages. Complete with a full bar and large wine list, Caruso’s hosts “The Unwind Hour” in which guests and the public can enjoy wine from 11 different wineries and fine hors d’oeuvres every Tuesday through Saturday from 5pm-7pm.

Seasons Bar - 757 Market Street
The sophisticated Four Seasons Hotel offers some of the best views of San Francisco, including glimpses of Yerba Buena Park and action-packed downtown streets. The Seasons Bar is a popular lounge for guests and San Francisco residents alike, offering live piano music, specialty cocktails and light cuisine. Sometimes guests are lucky enough to catch impromptu piano performances from Billy Joel (At 2am, no less – Seriously, I was totally there) and hang out with other celebrity guests in the lounge.
