San Francisco Pride Parade Preview
By: Graham Toben 04/17/08The 38th Annual San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration 2008, complete with the famous Gay Pride Parade, is back for another year of celebration of the LGBT community. The event, which is the second-largest parade in California, draws between 500,000 to 1,000,000 people each year and will be complete with a party and parade on June 28th and June 29th.
If you haven't been to this celebration, you're missing out. With so much color, diversity, and festivity happening throughout the city on this weekend, it is impossible not to enjoy everything that is happening. The party will start at the Civic Center Plaza on June 28th at noon with multiple bands showcasing their music while vendors set up booths around the plaza.
After 12 hours of celebration, partygoers will retire until 10:30 the next morning, where the parade will start. The route, usually along San Francisco's Market Street and runs to 8th street, will last all the way until 3 PM, where the party will again end at the Civic Center for another night of celebration.
Save for Sao Paolo's Pride Parade, this is the largest celebration of LGBT pride in the world. Regardless of your sexual orientation, you will be guaranteed a good time if you go to Gay Pride. For more information, check out the SF Pride Website.
