Closet looking a tad threadbare? This time, skip the mall marathon or boutique crawl and head over to Thread San Francisco (9/22 @ Fort Mason). This is San Francisco Shopping at it's finest. A trendy independent shopping event drawing over 100 designers and artists together for your shopping pleasure.
For the devotees of independent designers, one-stop shopping doesn’t get much better than Thread. At Thread San Francisco, loads of emerging and better-known brands are convening at Fort Mason’s Herbst Pavillion, giving shoppers first dibs on new apparel, accessories and artwork.
Designs for both men and women are showcased, providing first-rate reasons to splurge, as well as deals that won’t unravel your savings. Featured brands include Upper Playground, Stussy, Exact Science, Loyal Army, Gama-go and RVCA. Two special treats are the Villains denim lab (designer denim discounted up to 50%) and a sneaker bar with limited edition footwear. Also, check out the live screen printing and art show presented by SPRFKR.
Like its counterparts in other U.S. and U.K. cities, Thread San Francisco is a pretty hybrid event. Courtesy of DJs and an all-day hosted bar, shoppers can leisurely browse (or franticly rack-comb) accompanied by music and mixed drinks. Other draws: gift bags for early birds, freebies at the Virgin VIP booth, massages, a tattoo studio, and even complimentary “punk-overs”.
Sounds like an event worth resting up for. Or maybe not...the official Thread pre-party kicks off the weekend on Friday night at 111 Minna. Party with fellow fashion enthusiasts, find a shopping buddy for the next day, or maybe just scope out the competition.
