If you're in to comic books, San Francisco will be the only place you will want to be this weekend. Presenting: Wondercon, the annual comic book convention, held at the Moscone Center. Whether it's catching a sneak preview of the newest comic-related movie to browsing the ultra-rare collections, WonderCon brings the most dedicated comic book fans from around the world together in the city by the bay.
Organized by the Comic-Con International family of conventions, WonderCon has been the premiere comic book convention held in San Francisco since 1987. Each year Wondercon has been growing in size, with 20,000 people attending the three-day event last year.
And even if the pages of comic books don't tickle your fancy, WonderCon is also a venue for previews and early screenings of major motion pictures, including Spider-Man 2 in 2004, Batman Begins and Fantastic Four in 2005, Superman Returns in 2006, and 300 in 2007. All of these events featured the stars of the films in a Q&A session after the screening.
The event will be held on February 22-24 and will be located at the Moscone Center. Tickets are on sale at the WonderCon website and start at $12 for one-day passes.
