All revved up at 6 pm. Where to go? There's art openings in Chinatown, Culver City, Echo Park, Eagle Rock...What to do? Where doth aesthetic enlightenment await our ocular consumption? We need art world taste-makers to answer our prayers. Graciously, Daniel Pelt, assistant curator at world renowned gallery LaxArt, dropped some knowledge for us:
"Blum & Poe transformed Culver City from Hollywood's step-child to a major international contender in the art world. New building coming soon too. "
"Five Thirty Three Gallery. With an ever-changing line up of curators, artists and supporters, 533 allows for an extremely fluid institution capable of responding to needs and whims of the LA community."
"Hope Gallery is run by the folks at Family. They showcase hip underground works from LA and beyond. If you haven't heard of the artists they're showing, you will soon. Young collectors, take note."
And of course, visit LaxArt in Culver City, showcasing all kinds of innovative installation and site specific works of grandeur.
