Building buzz for the past few years as a pop-up with stints at Slim's and The Corner, Cathead's has slowly become one of San Francisco's favorite BBQ spots. Now they've made the move to a permanent space in SOMA with an eye-catching red exterior, custom picnic tables made from a Petaluma barn, and cozy family photos adorning the walls.
Cathead's signature dish has to be the Brisket, which is marinated for two days in a sea of Coca Cola, peppers and spice before being smoked for nine hours over aromatic wood. But the other stuff's not bad either, with prices capping off at $12. The Slow Smoked Pulled Pork and Sweet Tea BBQ Chicken are always best bets.
As for the vegetarians? Feast your eyes on Cornmeal Crusted BBQ Tofu, Maker's Mark Mushrooms, and Dandelion Green Potato Salad. No more excuses for the veggies amongst us!
