Celebrate the beginning of 2009 with Blasthaus and the Ninjatune superstar, Bonobo. The critically acclaimed and world renowned DJ is set to hit the decks and tear up the floor at 103 Harriet on January 2nd.
Bonobo’s last two stage appearances in SF sold out in a matter of days and were also some of the most entertaining shows of the year. The Bonobo DJ set at Mighty is ready to surprise and raise the level for live acts.
After his debut album, ‘Animal Magic’ he picked up ‘chillout’ and ‘downtempo’ labels by the critics. Some may have been satisfied, but Bonobo instead aimed to recreate his sound to bring your feet to the floor. He claims ‘dance’ is at the center of all of his music - and wants people to be moved, and move, when they hear him play. His most recent work, ‘Days to Come’, which is also heralded as his best album, brings this notion to the forefront and exemplifies Bonobo’s range of talent.
Get ready to see Bonobo at Mighty on January 2nd with a heavy mixture of hip hop, weighty jazz, broken beats, Latin, funk, and soul with the occasional cheeky bit of psyche rock and drum and bass thrown in. It’ll be another show for the record books.
