Can you hit that high note like Mariah Carey or know the words to every Lil Wayne song (like us)? If so, try your luck with other hardcore music fans, amateur singers, sloppy drunks, and even a few look-a-like celebrities at Celebrity Karaoke Mondays at Marquee Nightclub inside The Cosmopolitan.
Every Monday, inside The Library (the laid back, quaint lounge located on the 3rd floor of Marquee Nightclub) take part in the fun and tackle on your favorite celeb's hit tunes.
The first "star-studded" karaoke event kicked off in November with a packed room full of talented singers ready to show their stuff. It was truly a night of stars as one of Vegas' best Michael Jackson look/sound-alikes paid tribute to the legend with a special performance.
Marquee’s Mike Diamond hosted the night and sang a few songs as well. The best of the best were invited for encore performances to compete for a $500 gift card to Marquee, while those dubbed karaoke buzz-kills were promptly booted off the stage like the “Gong Show.”
The inaugural winner was Heath Burgett of the acapella singing group Mosaic, who stopped by and won the crowd over with hits like “Superstition” by the soulful Stevie Wonder and “End of the Road” by the R&B group Boys II Men. Burgett lead the room in a sing-a-long while throwing in some beat boxing at the end.
