Rickhouse Helps SF Revive the Cocktail

The guys behind the highly successful Bourban and Branch have brought San Francisco another awesome bar experience. Rickhouse bar was born in an effort to restore the cocktail to its rightful place in history, and we think it’s done a fine job. The menu, which reads more like an encyclopedia, features over sixty drinks, each with a brief explanation of what they are and what’s in them. The bar prides itself on using fresh ingredients, local produce and natural syrups to make a cocktail where you can really taste the difference. The bar also serves local beers and wines, but why order a Cali Chardonnay when you could be discovering the unknown paradise of the Campos Cooler or the Old Cuban?

Quickly becoming known for its rocking happy hour, Rickhouse has also made quite a name for itself amongst Bay Area cocktail connoisseurs. The bar, which looks like a cross between an old distillery and the saloon in an old John Wayne movie, features two bars, two levels and a mezzanine. Drinks run for 7-8 bucks a pop, but considering the time and complexity of processes that go into making each drink, we think the price is fair. The bar is located at 246 Kearny @ Bush, and is open Monday through Friday 12:00 pm to 2:00 am, and Saturdays from 6:00 pm to 2:00 am.

GetWize: Because these cocktails are such an incredible work of art, they do take longer to make than your typical vodka redbull. Know that you’re going to have to wait a bit for your special concoction. But Mama always said, good things come to those who wait.
