The birth of a new festival is a joyous occasion, much like a newborn baby, except without the breast-feeding obstacle. Instead, all we have to do to celebrate Convention 101’s inception is attend the dance music extravaganza and boogie. Robtronik, who promotes the bi-monthly Compression techno series, has put together three days of indoor and outdoor events, held in Los Angeles September 18-20, 2009. Convention day one (9/18) launches an opening night party in Hollywood with Drumcode's Joel Mull and Railyard Recording's Sean Palm, alongside special guests. For day two (9/19), Convention will produce three stages over 13 hours at Lot 613 and 614, two industrial sound stages downtown, while day three (9/20) will serve as Convention’s exclusive VIP closing party at the Downtown Standard Rooftop.

GetWize: Day Two is the main event: The Compression stage will host minimal/house/techno. The Planetary Series stage will showcase Detroit & harder/experimental techno, and the Expansion stage will present deeper house and techno acts and live performances. The lineup includes Juan Atkins, Wighnomy Bros, Paco Osuna, Misstress Barbara, Joel Mull, Stacey Pullen, Egyptian Lover, Deepchord presents Echospace, Drumcell, Steve Prior, and Acid Circus, with more to be announced as the date approaches.
