Create:Fixate isn’t just putting on a photo show, the group hopes to deliver a cosmic message. The premise is that “life can reside in a single moment in time - and in that mili-second a whole story can be told.” That’s deep enough to swim around. Over forty local artists, DJs, and musicians will deck the halls of the Premiere Events Center (PEC) downtown with photo, video, jewelry, and music. “Color Wars,” a contest hosted by Live Action Art will set artists head to head within different thematic competitions. The 'Audio Lab' portion includes performances by The Collab Project, who combine live instruments with self produced electronic beats. Beatboxer Adam Matta and electro-popster Kid Infinity will also perform, among others. Plus, the Samy’s Camera Loft will feature legendary rock and roll photographs by Jim Marshall, with all proceeds from sales of his work going to help struggling youths. Good times and a good deed await.
