Dead Man's Hand rock bar in Las Vegas
Dead Man’s Hand: Rock Bar Opening Next Month

Dead Man’s Hand, a new rock bar, is set to open next month. It is conveniently located just west of the Las Vegas Strip. Proprietors Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains and Scott Ian from Anthrax affectionately named it after the poker hand, two aces and two eights, which was the hand Wild Bill Hickok was holding when he was shot. Both guys are into poker and thought it would be a good name for this laid back rocker bar. Cantrell stated, “I always wanted to have a cool joint with some friends that would be a great place to go at night. It's close to Los Angeles, and a lot of cool bands and people hit Vegas. We wanted to make a fun place for everybody to hang.”

Dead Man’s Hand will feature a semi-circle shaped bar with room for up to 200 people. There will be a concert stage with an area of booths directly across the stage, DJs, and a state-of-the art lighting and audio system. House bands will play a couple of times every month, including Cantrell and Ian's jam band, the Dead Man's Band. The stage will also be open for anyone that just wants to get up and play. Dead Man’s Hand will feature several signature drinks, including the Black Tooth Grin (Crown Royal and Coca-Cola) and the Dead Man's Hand (whisky and spicy ginger ale). Making it even more fun, Ian said, “Every night at midnight or something, we’ll crank ‘Ace of Spades’ by Motorhead and everyone HAS to do a shot.”
