The Delano at Mandalay Bay Las Vegas
The Delano to Replace THEhotel at Mandalay Bay

Out with the old and in the new, THEhotel at Mandalay Bay has run its course and is set to be replaced early in 2013 by a new hotel group straight out of South Beach in Miami. Like its East coast counterpart, the Delano Las Vegas (created by Morgans Hotel Group) will be designed as an ultra luxurious retreat from the mayhem of the city. With art deco styling and a lobby designed for late-night mingling, the Delano is expected to bring a much-needed breath of fresh air to the Sin City hotel scene.

According to Chuck Bowling, President and CEO of Mandalay Bay, “In keeping with our commitment to create superior experiences for our guests, transforming The Hotel into Delano Las Vegas will add a new dimension of energy and excitement to the Las Vegas Strip." If the Delano Las Vegas is anything like the Delano South Beach, then our expectations are ridiculously high for the new hotel, which aims to cater to Latin American, European and celebrity clientele.

While the exact date for the transformation is still up in the air, expect to see the Delano popping up in the Mandalay Bay sometime in mid 2013. Along with the new hotel, guests will also enjoy new bar, restaurant and nightclub options including a casual American bistro by chef Brian Massie, a Japanese restaurant by chef Akira Back and a new nightlife venue operated by the Light Group (Haze, 1OAK, The Bank, etc.).
