DJ Hero, DJ Falcon, and Kid Koala - This Week in SF

This week, DJ's take over the hot spots of SF. 1015 Folsom holds the launch party of the much awaited DJ Hero, Daft Punk Crew member DJ Falcon hits up Ruby Skye and Kid Koala takes over the Independent.

Thursday, Sept. 24th

DJ Hero Special Launch Event @ 1015 Folsom
From the makers of Guitar Hero comes DJ Hero. Finally you can hold on to something instead of air when you do your mock "wheeki wheeki" as you imitate a famous DJ scratching. Not only is tonight your first chance to see and play the game (since it is not released yet) but the event is free, Blasthaus is bringing a bunch of DJ's and you even get a couple drink tickets when you get there... You have to RSVP here and they are only letting 300 lucky folks in so sign up now.

Friday, Sept. 25th

Benga & Martyn @ 103 Harriet
103 Harriet brings in UK music producer, Benga. Benga became an important name in the development of Dubstep when he fused together the existing South London dubstep with the newer East London born grime sound in the early 2000s. Also taking the stage is Drum and Bass and Dubstep producer from Eindhoven, Martyn. Doors open at 10pm and Pre-sale tickets are $15.

Drop the Lime with Tim Exile (live) & Sleazemore @ Mighty
At age 12 this classically trained violinist began experimenting with electronic music and by 1999 he had his first drum and bass release. Tim Exile will be coming by Mighty this Friday night for Drop the Lime presented by Blasthaus, come by to catch Exile and San Francisco's own party machine, DJ, and influential graphic design artist, Sleazmore. Kid Koala @ The Independent
Born in Vancouver, Canada, this DJ and turn table talents spread wide, he is a member of the jam band Bullfrog and alternative hip hop supergroup Deltron 3030. Kid Koala makes a stop at the Independent, while on his 90-city tour, this Friday. Doors open at 8:30pm and the show is at 9pm, grab your tickets in advance for $17.

Auralism Records Presents: Dead Seal LIVE @ Mezzanine
Started by long term friends, DJ's and producers, Auralism Records brings the minimal machinations of Berlin to the Bay Area's famously funky dance floors. This Friday they host the CD Album Release Party for Dead Seal - Corpus Animus at Mezzanine. The party starts at 10 pm with a live performance by Dead Seal, Marc Smith, Clint Stewart and more. DJ Falcon @ Ruby Skye
Starting his music career off by working at Virgin Records, DJ Falcon's fame came when the track "So Much Love to Give" hit clubs around the world. He eventually joined forces with founding member of Daft Punk, Thomas Bangalter and started the french house duo, "Together." These days, Falcon travels as part of the Daft Punk Crew. Chris Clouse @ Infusion Lounge
Since releasing his debut album in 2003, this San Francisco resident has made a presence for himself in the world of acoustic music. Chris Clouse began his musical career with the fiddle at age six, after winning multiple titles, he traded the fiddle for a guitar and fronted a country western band. Now his style is acoustic rock mixed with hip hip and electro-elements, mixing fiddles and DJ's this performer is unique and will be hitting up Infusion Lounge this Friday, so don't miss him!

The Black Ball @ Supperclub
Get decked out in your black attire and head over to the Supperclub this Friday night for the Black Ball. Hosted by Mario Olmos, Silvestre Arias, Stefan Ski and Nate with funky and international house DJ's DJ G-Stav, and DJ Vahid. Don't miss this classy party, starting at 10 pm. Need a reservation? Summerland @ Mint Plaza
This Saturday from 11:00am-5:00pm, it's time to appreciate the warm weather at Summerland in the Mint Plaza (5th and Mission). Over 70 bay area fashion designers, art, live music and dj's all day long, food from local businesses, cocktails and best of all it is free and open to all ages.

Jonathan Allyn @ 1015 Folsom
This DJ, and producer is one of the nations fastest up and coming artists. The LA boy found love for trance music after spending more then 10 years in the Punk scene. Since 2001, Jonathan Allyn has built a solid reputation with a fan base that spans from coast to coast. Catch him this Saturday when he takes over 1015 Folsom with DJ Taj, AJ, and Ismael Rodriquez vs. Mari. Doors open at 10 and pre-sale tickets are $15.

Burnski @ Paradise Lounge
The UK producer and DJ who holds a residency at one of UK's hottest clubs, and isn't afraid to experiment with sound heads to SF this weekend. As a DJ, he always has the newest batch of music available, is extremely intuitive and versatile. LIGHTS DOWN LOW @ Triple Crown
Multi talented production duo Zombie Disco Squad, are taking music in a new direction. They take their influences from Balie Funk, African rythms, hip hop and more. Since 2006, these guys have been playing London's most pivotal Venues. This Saturday catch them with Disco Shawn, and Sleazemore when they hit up the Triple Crown.

Telefon Tel Aviv, The Race, Cloud Archive @ Bottom of the Hill
This weekend Chicago-based electronic-music artist Joshua Eustis of the group Telefon Tel Aviv hits up Bottom of the hill. Eustis will be joined on stage with close friend of the band, Fredo Nogueira. Bottom of the Hill also welcomes indie band The Race, and Cloud Archive. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Doors open at 8:30pm and show starts at 10pm.

D:Fuse @ Ruby Skye
This producer, drummer, vocalist and DJ, defines what a DJ does. D:Fuse has taken DJing to a whole new level and earned a spot in the top 35 DJs in America 3 years in a row. Catch him this Saturday when he plays at Ruby Skye!
