When you hear the word "Green" in San Francisco, a few things typically come to mind: social justice, sustainable consumption, Prius's (or is it Priyi?). But from November 7-15, Green has a unified meaning in SF: partying. And not the typical kind of "green" partying that you might expect. This year marks the eighth annual
Green Week, a Bay Area-wide eco fair that includes a variety of fun activates that will make the planet as happy as all the participants. What could be more fun than local art and community improvement?
An official after party, you say? Well, as it just so happens, there is an official after party being held on Sunday, November 15 at 1015 Folsom. Befitting of a week-long
enviro-celebration, this event has no shortage of amazing performers and special guests, such as Dead Prez, Speech (of Arrested Development), Ross Mirkarimi (District 5 Supervisor, SF), Social Prophet Choir, Audiopharmacy (who just had the release party for the new album over Halloween), Javier Reyes (Colored Ink), and tons of others. There will also be live painting, local art and vendors, organic foods, and a slew of other special surprises. There is literally no way to cram more quality entertainment and positive intentions into 1015 Folsom without creating a rift in space-time to store it all. And, as an added bonus, the after party is also a benefit for
Oakland's Green Youth Arts & Media Center.
GetWize: Tickets will be $20 at the door, but they drop down to $15 if you pick them up in advance. There is also a VIP option that will score you reserved seating, food, and a special viewing spot.
