Didn't make Coachella? Turn those wah wah wahhhs into womp, womp, womps because the dance music purveyors at Hard Events have just announced their stellar lineup for SoCal's much-anticipated dance fete, HARD Summer Music Festival 2011. Expect to throw down hard this August 6 at LA's State Historic Park, with an additional stage and get this...two extra hours to fuel the dance fire.
The initial all-star headliners released include Armand Van Helden & A-Trak's runaway party machine Duck Sauce, German electro wunderkind Boys Noize, funky duo Chromeo, tech-savvy rock boys RATATAT, newcomer dubstep star Skrillex, explosive rap collective Odd Future, and James Murphy and Pat Mahoney of LCD Soundsystem.
The Los Angeles State Historic Park will also host four massive international performance areas, featuring Digitalism (live), Jack Beats, Karlsson & Winnberg of Miike Snow (dj set), Caspa, Nero, Noisia, Emalkay, Carte Blanche (live debut feat DJ Mehdi & Riton), and the US debut of Busy P and So Me's Busy Pictionary. Additionally Holy Ghost! (live), Gesaffelstein, Gaslamp Killer, Nadastrom, Juan Maclean (DJ set), Shit Robot, Stil Going, Acid Jacks, and Dillon Francis.
With Electric Daisy Carnival flying the coop for the more lax laws of Vegasland, LA's electronic dance music community is looking to HARD in hopes it will combat those nasty drug abuse/EDM stereotypes. Touted as 'the safest place on earth' by the LA Times, HARD Summer Music Festival 2011 is looking to change those dynamics.
General admission tickets allow access to all four stages. Tickets $60 - $75 for advance purchase.
