Since the collaborative efforts from members DJ Andrew Butler of DFA Records, Antony Hegarty of Antony and the Johnsons, and other big names, dropped their debut album in late March of this year, I've yet to hear even my most critical of friends deny the genius of this still chart topping success. Hercules and Love Affair's homage to past musical phenomena can be heard in their incredibly soulful, synthesized and harmonized funk rhythms infused with a very intelligent approach to disco beats and style. As expected, Antony delivers a heart-melting and wrenching performance on the CD that gives the group one of the most unique and ironic sounds in music today.

Although it will be unlikely that Antony shows his face at the show, all is not lost. New York music mixing prodigy and DJ, Andrew Butler, will bedazzle audiences with his provocative house beats with leggy, front woman, Ruiz, whose looks alone could kill. Accompanying the dusty vocals of Nomi Ruiz, is the airy and sweet singing of Hawaiian-born babe, Kim Ann Foxman. Behind the two leading ladies, look forward to seeing and hearing killer drums, spinning, and trumpeting. In the carnal fashion of disco, the more hot bodies on stage the better, and Butler and crew will undoubtedly make the audience feel their music's heat and passion.

Hercules and Love Affair bring New York's new wave disco to San Francisco with a full night of sensual celebration, dancing, and musical merrymaking. Hosts, San Francisco's XLR8R Magazine and Popscene Indie Night Club, will get you grooving when the doors open at 9pm with DJ sets by local PYT DJs, Honey Soundsystem and Omar.
