How to Beat the San Francisco Recession Part 2: Drinking

Welcome to part 2 of How to Beat the San Francisco Recession. If you haven't seen part 1 yet, read this first.

Hotel Monaco
501 Geary Street (Union Square)
Nothing in life is free - especially not is you’re at one of posh hotel in Union Square. Lucky for you and me, Hotel Monaco didn’t get the memo. They have a free wine happy hour from 5-7pm everyday. Just pretend like you’re a guest and throw back vino like a rock star until the staff asks you to go back to your penthouse.

The Chameleon Café
1299 Pacific Avenue (Nob Hill)
Check out the Chameleon for $1.75 draft beers from 4-7pm everyday. The staff is cool and it’s nice to get a fresh brew with some taste. If you feel like leaving the TL or grabbing some views, swing by the Chameleon above sea level.

Brainwash Café
1122 Folsom St. (SOMA)
Swing down to the Brainwash Café any day of the week for $1 PBRs from 4-7pm. Do your laundry if you want, don’t if you don’t want to. Smelly clothes feel just fine when you’re throwing back $1 PBRs for three hours.

Kyoto Sushi
1233 Van Ness (Lower Polk)
Kyoto is a pretty cool spot to grab a beer and eat a some fish. The best part is that it’s right on Van Ness, so it’s on almost every bus line. Plus, you really don’t have an excuse not to check it out when they serve $1 Sapporos all day, everyday. The staff is pretty fun and they might even bring out a few rolls if you hang for a bit.

Stayed tuned for the ‘How to Beat the San Francisco Recession’ guides on eating and going out.
