Years after his fame and talent brought him to the top of the DJ list, John Digweed returns to the stage that gave him his first break. March 11, Digweed comes home to The Mayan Theater in Los Angeles to celebrate his label, Bedrock’s 10 year anniversary and the release of his much anticipated album with Nick Muir, Aquatonic.
Back in 2000, Digweed got his start at The Mayan, but hasn’t been back in the last three years. Soon enough, he’ll headline a major show and reconnect with the hometown crowd that got him to where he is today. It’ll be a special event for Digweed, The Mayan and the local crowd alike, as they come together for an epic event and recreate past memories.
Liquified will present Digweed’s return to the midweek Mayan party, which regularly draws a crowd more interested in iconic DJs than the typical 15-minute spotlight talent. The LA Times even states the Mayan shows, “reintroduced the art of dancing to dance music.”
More recently, Digweed has been touring with Sasha on their 2008 Spring Club Tour along with Liquified resident Kazell, who will open the show. Back in the early years, the Mayan created a bi-annual platform for Sasha and Digweed, which led to their DJ duo success. This will be the 8th collaboration between Digweed and Liquified.
Today, the Mayan stands as one of the most unique and historic venues in Los Angeles, and this will be an event to mark on your calendars. Get all your info about the event and tickets here.
