Treasure Island Hotel and Casino brings some upscale pan-Asian flair to Vegas with Khotan. This new Restaurant showcases cuisine from China, Japan, Thailand and Indonesia. Their most famous and popular dish is the Whole Fish P-A, an exploration of Cantonese fried catfish (it's served whole, from head to tail!) which is baked, then flash-fried, seasoned with citrus and soy, and served with a ponzu dipping sauce. Other favorites include the crispy asparagus with tobiko hollandaise sauce, lobster curry, and the sushi: their specialty "Pay Roll" is not to be missed- it's Kobe Beef wrapped around a sushi roll which sits on a bed of green goddess dressing. Inside it's filled with king crab tempura and avocado, and topped with a poached quail egg and a drizzle of truffle oil. It’s a food lovers dream come true.
It's not just the food that will have you entranced; it’s the setting as well. When you walk in, look up to see the ceiling, which is made completely of birdcages. With outdoor dining featuring views of the strip and Sirens Cove, as well as ultra-chic indoor dinning, it’s the ideal place for a romantic dinner for two or for a special celebration. The restaurant is open daily from 5pm to 11pm and the Khotan lounge is open from 1pm till midnight daily. Call ahead to make reservations at 888-692-3777, or visit their website for more information.
GetWize: Khotan, which means "City of Jade", is also home to the largest private collection of hand-carved jade and ivory antiquities in the United States. It features 25-30 exceptional pieces from Treasure Island Owner Phil Ruffin’s private collection, displayed in floor to ceiling cases.
