Killer Cafe Marina Del Rey
Now Open: Killer Cafe

Trying to find a place to park in Los Angeles on any given day is a huge pain in the ass -- you know this. That's why the next time you're going to brunch at the Killer Cafe in Marina Del Rey, you'll be sure to remember the keys to your boat, as this new, killer restaurant has a designated area for boat arrival and docking. It's probably safe to assume you'll easily find a spot without having to circle the harbor, like the rest of the car-bound yuppies.

After securing your boat to the dock, join the rest of your nautical-loving friends inside for late-morning Sunday brunch drinks. Choose from a list of specialty cocktails such as the "Surfer on Acid," a concotion of Flor de Cana rum infused with coconut, house-made Amaro and pineapple juice or a Killer Bloody Mary. Chase away any tinge of a Saturday night hangover with the Killer Cafe's specialties -- twist on typical American breakfast with dishes like Killer Shrimp and Grits, Killer Shrimp Omelet, or Killer Shrimp Eggs Benedict. Or, if your palatte (and stomach) is too sensitive for such a mid-morning delight, elect to dine on a build-your-own omelet, egg dishes, buttermilk pancakes, or Brioche french Toast.

If at all possible, get to the Killer Cafe early, as they're only open from morning to afternoon. Also, you'll want to a) get that sweet boat parking spot (or just park your car in the land lot, that's acceptable as well), b) get started on that plate of buttermilk pancakes, and c) try to get the best view possible, which shouldn't be hard considering the fact that the Killer Cafe has the best views of the Marina in town. Just remember not to drink and drive your boat afterwards. Designate a sober boater or call a boat taxi. Those exist, right?
