The 2009 festival season is officially in motion with the first major festival of the year announcing it’s preliminary line up. The 7th annual Langerado Festival has announced its lineup for 2009, and it's a good one. This year the event has moved from the Big Cypress Indian Reservation to Miami at Bicentennial Park, the same venue that Ultra holds its WMC party. Last year's event, headlined by R.E.M. and countless others, drew 25,000 people per day at the weekend event. This year's event is set to enjoy further success as this year's lineup is announced.
The headliners for the 2009 festival include Death Cab for Cutie, Snoop Dogg, Thievery Corporation, Slightly Stoopid, Flogging Molly, Broken Social Scene, Girl Talk, Chromeo, Cold War Kids, Gym Class Heroes and more. Also booked is Langerado veteran Michael Franti and Spearhead. This is a killer lineup as is and the promoters of Langerado promise to add even more great acts.
The event will occur over 3 days, March 6-8, and have artists playing on multiple stages similar to years passed. In addition to world class music acts, Langerado will feature local arts and crafts, food vendors and family activities.
Located on Bicentennial Park's 30-acre waterfront property and just a few miles away from downtown Miami, attendees will enjoy awesome views and easy access to Miami hotels and nightlife. Langerado has announced that they will be hosting after hours parties throughout downtown Miami in South Beach, the Design District, Coconut Grove and beyond, making this a non-stop party weekend for those who don't want it to end after the final act of the day.
Tickets for Langerado go on sale December 12th and start at $75 for single day and $120 for 3 day passes and can be purchased at the Langerado website. VIP packages are also available if you feel the need to be baller status.
