LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy and Pat Mahoney are on a mission to spread the gospel of Disco to the indie masses. Long written off as a cheesy fad, people are starting to take a second look at a genre that was much more than meets the commercial eye. As Murphy was recently quoted "People hear that word disco, and they see bell bottoms and 'That '70s Show.' No, no, no. This is real liberation music for people who know where to go. This is the real deal."

Expect to dance your ass off to a myriad of underground disco gems mixed in with a bevy of cuts from Murphy's excellent DFA Records (Hercules and Love Affair, Holy Ghost!, The Juan Maclean) roster. If you had a chance to check out last years epic Fabric.Live mix helmed by Murphy and Mahoney, then you should be well aware that you are in for some sweat filled disco mayhem.

James Murphy and Pat Mahoney aka Special Disco Version plays Mighty 119 Utah St. on Thursday August 7th. Doors are at 9pm. Admission is $10.
