There's No Lightning in the Bottle

Blame erosion and the destruction of Ferngully's forest. Lightning in a Bottle has been canceled or, at best, postponed this year. Put your Robin Hood tights and Little Red Riding hood back in the treasure chest.

The Do Lab, the art collective that puts on the event year after year, has issued a statement: "After many months of searching for a new location we are sad to report that, as of right now, we have been unable to acquire one, therefore LIB will not be happening this Memorial Day Weekend. We have seen many properties that just weren’t quite right and the few properties that we thought were perfect for the event, unfortunately, did not fall under the proper zoning for what we are trying to create. We realize how much this event means to everyone and that this is very disappointing news for the entire LIB community; as you can probably imagine it is extremely disappointing for us as well.

On a positive note, we've got something special in the works for August so stay tuned..."

All hope is not lost. You can be the one to save Lightning In A Bottle for all woodland creatures. If you happen to have 150+ acres of privately owned, secluded, beautiful, flat land, preferably with many trees and/or a water source, unaffiliated with the Williamson Act, or part of any agricultural preserve, located roughly between SF and LA, you can host the festival in your yard. Email Do Lab with any leads: manifest@thedolab.com

Until then, continue waxing your bongos at home.
