What’s up LA? In case you haven’t noticed, some things have changed around here at MetroWize. Specifically the way we will report on events has morphed into the following “weekly heads up” article about where you should go this week and what you should be keeping your eye out for coming soon. Without further ado, let’s get you dialed in.

The LA Film Festival kicks off on Thursday, June 18th and runs through the 28th. More than 200 films at a dozen venues will keep the more than 85,000 expected attendees entertained throughout the ten day event. More info can be found at lafilmfest.com.

For you club heads, there are several good dance music events to hit up this weekend with Danny Tenaglia @ Avalon on Saturday, June 20th, Deepsky @ Circus on Saturday, June 20th and Elite Force @ Nacional for Monday Night Social on June 22nd. Beat-boxing and lyricist extraordinaire Busdriver will be dropping some verbal knowledge at The Knitting Factory on Thursday, June 18th and world famous turntablist DJ Craze will be at Avalon on Friday, June 19th.

On the live tip Femi Kuti and Santigold will be blowing up Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, June 21st.
