Midi: A Mid-District Fusion of Californian & French Cuisine

Short for “mid-district”, Midi restaurant perfectly balances its food, décor, and service to cater to the financiers and retail-addicts that are native to the surrounding areas. This self-described “modern California brasserie” boasts a bar, dining room, open kitchen, and lounge on two floors that are adjacent to the Galleria Park Hotel.

Located midway between touristy Union Square and the bustling Financial District, Midi’s menu reflects Executive Chef Michelle Mah’s culinary skills- cultivated at well-acclaimed restaurants such as Ponzu and Grand Café. Although countless menu items are worth mentioning, the following manage to taste even better than they sound: house cured salmon carapaccio, filet mignon tartate, and roasted red bell pepper pappardelle. All of this can be washed down with Midi’s complimentary Natura water or the Fuzzy Bunny, which consists of Sonoma Sparkler Peach and orange juice, among other refreshments.

GetWize: Enjoying the fare at Midi may prove to be more than just a slight strain on your wallet. Fortunately, Midi offers a “Weekday Dinner for Two” special that brings the total bill to $49. The set menu offers different specials depending on the day and includes a main course, side dish, salad, and mini dessert of the day. Take advantage of this offer soon, as it expires July 31st.
