For the 12th straight year, San Francisco's Mission Creek Music festival soldiers on bringing us top tier local independent music and art. This year's festival runs from July 16th - July 20th and venues include Cafe Du Nord, Knockout and Hotel Utah to name a few. Musical headliners include Tussle, Earlimart, Extra Action Marching Band, Jel, Hard Place, The Blank Tapes, War Paint, French Miami, and Ariel Pink.

A returning highlight of past events is Collision which takes place this year at New Langton Arts on Folsom. Collision's ever evolving concept is to bring together "music acts with artists working in sound installation, experimental music, dance, and music based sculpture."

A notable new feature of this year's festival is Latin Mod which is happening at Balazo 18 Gallery in the Mission District. Latin Mod's intent is to showcase up and coming Bay Area and Los Angeles based Latin rock bands.
