San Diego's Newest Bars
San Diego has a boatload of bars, clubs, lounges, restaurants and speakeasies that are great for getting your drink on. But if you've been in the city for longer than a couple months, then you might be getting sick of the same old spots in the Gaslamp, Pacific Beach and elsewhere.
Luckily, new bars, breweries and other types of drinkeries are opening up at a steady pace, giving locals fresh options for getting tipsy. Below you'll find a list of the newest watering holes to grace the streets of San Diego.

Duck Dive is Pacific Beach’s newest bar and eatery. Although “dive” is in the venue’s name, Duck Dive is actually a fairly upscale place, with cozy décor and a variety of bar bites and drink specials. If you’re sick of the tired old Pacific Beach watering holes and you’re looking for a new place to watch the game and grab some wings n beer, hit up Duck Dive. Don’t forget to try the fries cooked in duck fat with the spicy ketchup and tomato aioli – yum.

Stop by the Bar Key for a night of boozing with the homies or for a few drinks/snacks before you hit the clubs. Although the Bar Key doesn’t have a ton of space, the venue has an intimate feel, with friendly staff and some pretty awesome food and drink specials. With plenty of beers on tap and enough hard liquor to satisfy any alcoholic, the Bar Key is shaping up to be a new local favorite.

Rough Draft Brewing Company has opened a new brewery in San Diego with hopes of expanding their lines of signature microbrew lagers and IPAs. The brewery has a 45 foot long bar, two big screens, and plenty of seating right in the midst of the 15 barrel production brewery. Start off with a 4 oz pour of your beer of choice for $1 and once you’ve picked a favorite, grab a whole pint for just $4. Clean your palette with some complimentary popcorn and move on to the next brew!

Don’t be fooled by the hand-written “Beer This Way -->” signs and the small building that houses Wet N Reckless Brewing – this is one serious brewery. Specializing in beers that have higher than usual alcohol content, you may have a hard time staying sober when you visit Wet N Reckless. The brewery doesn’t just have your typical ales, stouts and lagers – Wet N Reckless has a ton of specialty varieties like the Pop My Cherry Ale and Applicious Ale.

While Gaijin is more of a restaurant than a bar, we decided to add it to the list since it offers such an amazing selection of boozy treats. If you’re like us, then the first thing you’ll notice on the menu is the “Adult Snow Cones.” Shaved ice and flavored cold sake make this a tasty alcoholic treat, perfect for dessert. If you need some food to soak up all that sake, go for the Yakitori or the green tea soba noodles.
