Nightlife at the California Academy of Sciences

The California Academy of Science in Golden Gate Park is doing something historic – combining Science and partying. Every Thursday night from 6-10pm the Museum is hosting Nightlife, an event transforming the museum into a “lively venue filled with music, provocative science, mingling, and cocktails”. Rotating DJ’s will be featured each week along with special guest speakers. At least some of the Museum will also be open, allowing you to check it out without the lines and a million little kids running around.

This Thursday, February 19th will feature DJ Aaron Pope, an internationally renowned DJ who performs regularly at SF hotspots Ruby Skye, Slide and Shine. The night will also feature John Frederick Walker, author of Ivory Ghosts, who will give a presentation about how the Ivory Trade is endangering Elephants. Tickets are $10 and you can find out more about upcoming Nightlife events here.

If you’re into Science, or just feel like getting cultured while drinking cocktails and eating finger foods, then check out Nightlife at the California Academy of Sciences.
