The Norry at Kampuchea
Drink & Dine Cambodian Style at The Norry at Kampuchea

Kampuchea (formerly known as Kampuchea Noodle Bar) now has a neighboring sister bar called The Norry at Kampuchea, which serves Cambodian delicacies such as corned beef tongue, numpang sandwiches with sweet potato fries, tamarind baby back ribs, catfish tacos, and veal meatball with egg and hoisin. To go along with its fine fare is a creative drink menu, and a distinguished selection of brews in bottle and on tap.

In Cambodia, a norry is a motorized, passenger-bearing bamboo handcart. In Manhattan’s Lower East Side, though, the Norry is a hot, hipper mini-version of Kampuchea, decorated in an elegant yet simple style with white ceramic tile, rustic wood and sleek lighting.

What makes The Norry at Kampuchea stand out is the variety of smooth cocktails that you can knock back. If you’re looking to keep Jack Frost from nipping at your nose (and other vital parts of your body) try the Phnom Penh Hot Punch, made with deep breath rum, Cointreau, cognac, hot apple cider, caramel tea, cinnamon sticks, lemon juice, almond syrup and agave nectar. While it may not be Boston, you still can have your own tea party with the Cambodian Tea Party- concocted with green tea vodka, St. Germain and Lillet Blanc.

There also are many food-friendly wines to choose from, plus Stumptown coffee and sweet-tooth-satisfying desserts to cap-off your dazzling evening.
