Phish Halloween, but Where?

At this point, it’s safe to say that Phish has officially made it back in to music culture. This year, after a nearly five year long hiatus, Phish reunited for three shows in Hampton Virginia and soon after released a new album and launched a full scale summer and fall tour. With sold out shows (usually within a day or two) and a two-day headlining performance in front of 100,000 people at Bonnaroo, the Phish that everyone knew and loved has most definitely returned. Now, it appears that the band is adding back another element of what they used to be so well known for: the festival.

GetWize: Phish has confirmed the rumor that they will be playing a three day run for Halloween this year but they have not announced where it will be or what kind of event they have planned. On the band's website, a “save the date” home page has been showing a map of the US for the last two weeks. Every day or so a state gets eliminated from the running by some sort of clever animation. The rumors are swirling about what the show will be and where. Up until yesterday a big favorite among music bloggers was Indio, site of the Coachella festival, but those hopes were shattered when little hot air balloons swooped down on California and carried it away. It’s also not totally clear when Phish will let the cat out of the bag it seems like it could be any day now.

**Update 0n 7/22**
Since the initial post for this article, the band has been toying with the audience pretty much every day by taking states off and then sometimes even putting them back on (as they did with Washington). Now today in a not so unexpected twist, the map narrowed the possibilities down to California... Is Indio back on the agenda? Stick around...
