Halloween just got a whole lot spookier in Southern California. Today, Phish (a band known far and wide for over the top festivals that draw 100,000 people or more) confirmed that they will take over the Empire Polo Fields in Indio (site of the Coachella festival) for 3 days of music during the Halloween 2009 weekend. The festival (called "8") will take place on the 30th, 31st and 1st and feature lots and lots of Phish. In past Halloween runs, Phish has done some pretty outlandish and memorable stuff. From floating in to the crowd on a giant hot dog to covering full albums like The White Album by the Beatles and Velvet Underground's Loaded. What will it be this year? Thriller?
GetWize: Tickets look like they are going to be $200 plus fees for the GA ticket and an additional $125 for camping on site. For those looking to do the festival in style, Indio is chock full of hotels and timeshares and this is the off season there so rates should be pretty cheap. Hop on over to phish.com for all the details but make sure to check back to MetroWize in the coming weeks as we launch a ticket giveaway... how could we resist right?
