Every Wednesday for the last 13 years, Jondi, Spesh and the people behind Looq records have been hosting a party known as Qoöl at 111 Minna Gallery near 2nd and Mission. It's a happy hour event (5-10pm) with a Saturday night kind of vibe. The cover is cheap ($5), the DJ's are almost always local (everyone gets a quick 45 minute turn on the decks) and the crowd is an eclectic mix of electronic music loving freaks, suit clad downtown wage slaves, hippies, artists, trust fund babies, neighborhood homeless, and international tourists. After 13 years, the vibe is still fresh and the changing art installations at 111 Minna always make the venue feel new and interesting. Grab more info at qoolsf.com.
GetWize: The recession is hitting us all, get in to Qool for free whenever you want by signing up for the Q List. As an added bonus, 111 Minna will be doling out ridiculous drink specials all summer so drinking just got cheaper too.
