Come check out the Red Bull Street Battles over at *SCAPE Skate Park on Sunday 7 February for the very first B-boy competition in Singapore. Known as the B-boy competition strictly for crews of two, Red Bull Street Battles 2010 aims to help build the local B-boy scene and to break new grounds. The winner will win a trip for two to the next Red Bull BC One World Finals in Tokyo, Japan at the end of this year. The Red Bull BC One is the biggest international 1-on-1 B-boy competition in the world, featuring some of the best B-boys on the planet. The top 3 crews will also receive prizes courtesy of Puma. The registration deadline is 6 February, so all you aspiring B-boys better hurry.

The competition will incorporate a brand new ‘7-to-Smoke’ format with a twist to keep things interesting for crews and audiences. The rules are simple and designed to ensure an enthralling battle of teamwork coordination and skills. So here is the load down, a one hour ‘Open 2-on-2 cypher session' will be held to seed crews into the '7-to-Smoke' Finals in which a total of 8 crews will be short-listed. Each crew will take turns to throw down a move sequence of no more than 2 minutes, with the next crew in line answering with a move sequence of their own in a ‘2-on-2’ battle format. Judges will then vote on the winning crew from the battle and losers will join the queue again while the winner will stay and battle the next crew in line. The challenger will then throw down the next move sequence before the previous winning crew answers back. The ‘7-to-smoke’ Final will end after 30 minutes. The eventual winner of the competition is the first crew to reach 7 points, with the highest number of points before time runs out. This is a tandem competition so teamwork and coordination (in moves and gear) are a must for this B-boy battle royale.
