N.E.R.D. - offspring of The Neptunes (aka one of the most successful production teams in the modern music scene) is coming to The Warfield this Thursday, July 30th. Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo of the Neptunes got hooked up with Shay Haley and formed their own group back in 2000. After years of selling gold records and a short hiatus, N.E.R.D. is back on the scene with their 2008 album Seeing Sounds. The legendary GU Nubreed DJ mix series that started back in 2000 and launched the careers of some of modern dance’s greatest DJs like Sander Kleinenberg and Steve Lawler is at it again with Nubreed 8 – mixed by Montreal based DJ and producer Sultan. He’s traveled around the world mixing those smooth, mystical beats and now he’s in town just in time for that Thursday itch to get your groove on. Simpler Times will be an epic place to hang out in the Playa funded by burners in LA and SF, there will be explosions, art installations and unforgettable music performances.
