While half the city may be off escaping the July gloom, there's plenty of acts to heat the night up this July. From bass-blasting underground favorites to chart-topping mega-acts to high profile comedians, there's a little something for everyone this month. Read on below for some of MetroWize's top picks.
JULY 7TH
Gigamesh, Punks Jump Up, Cassian & Tenderlions @ Mezzanine
Known for his mad remixing skills (along with producing a few multi-platinum albums), Gigamesh has topped the charts on Hype Machine with his trademark mesh of disco electro. Add to the bill Punks Jump Up, Cassian, Tenderlions, and a Popscene stamp of approval and you know you'll be sweating it out on the dance floor in no time.

July 11th
Marina & The Diamonds @ The Fillmore
Welsh singer-songwriter, Marina & The Diamonds, has topped the charts in the UK and bolstered buzz across the US with her experimental glam-pop sound and powerhouse voice. Drawing comparisons as diverse as Kate Nash and Lily Allen, Marina matches her massive stage presence with a set of songs that never get monotonous.

July 13th
Com Truise @ 1015 Folsom
New York producer, Com Truise, returns to 1015 Folsom for another night of self-proclaimed "slow-motion funk". Stirring together sludgy beats and sparkling synth melodies, his tracks craft a fresh spin on 80s New Wave with jazzy rhythms and heavy heavy bass. Joining him will be Kid606, Baauer, Jim-E-Stack, and Giraffage.

July 14th
LA Riots @ Vessel
LA Riots have been blasting aggressive club bangers since 2007. With a sound not often found in EDM when they started out, Riots have built a rep that's landed them on tour alongside MSTRKFT, Bloody Beetroots and The Crystal Method. Check out their blend of house, techno and D&B after opening acts Jared F and Team No Sleep.

July 15th
Aesop Rock @ The Fillmore
Emerging onto the underground hip hop scene in the late 90s, Aesop Rock follows in the vein of Del tha Funkee Homosapien and Kool Keith. Topping the Independent charts as an MC, he quickly moved up the ladder with songs used by Tony Hawk and Nike along with collaborations with Jeremy Fish, Kimya Dawson and more. Opening acts include Rob Sonic and DJ Big Wig.

July 18th & 20th
Aziz Ansari @ Masonic Center
You get three chances to catch some new material from Aziz Ansari as he passes through San Francisco on his Buried Alive! comedy tour. Rising to fame in with Parks and Recreation and sketch comedy show, Human Giant, along with roles in Funny People and I Love You Man. Here's your chance to see him for realz.

Oliver @ Rickshaw Stop
