Why run around the city when some of the best eats and drinks in the Bay are all setting up shop in the Mission on Saturday, August 18th? The 4th annual San Francisco Street Food Festival is back for 2012 with another batch of fresh faces and city favorites.

Conceived by La Cocina, an entrepreneurial incubator that started off in 2005 lending a hand to women vendors in the Mission District, the SF Street Food Fest celebrates both the heart and the spirit of small business owners working through unconventional means. This year there will be over 80 vendors, half of whom belong to the La Cocina program, each of which will offer a Big Bite, Small Bite, and beverage option.

When you're ready to nosh, save money and time by purchasing a "Passport" prior to the event. Ranging from $25 to $100, these shareable passports include drink tokens and "street dollars" to use with vendors. Folks can pick up their passports starting at 10am on the day of the event and spare themselves the inevitable ticket and tokens lines.
