San Francisco's Best Weekly Parties

We all know that big events happen almost weekly here in SF. Whether its a huge festival like LoveFest or Outside Lands or top name artists coming in to places like Shoreline or The Greek, we get a lot of good parties no doubt. What about the days and nights when there is not a big event though? What about the Tuesdays, the Sundays? What do we do when we aren't catching an internationally known artist at a major venue? We hit the SF weekly parties. We have compiled a list of some of our favorites by day of the week. Check em out.

Sunday
French Kiss

Where: Pink, 2925 16th St.
You can get your weekly dose of Electro, Nu Rave, Mash Ups and Party Jams at French Kiss. Hosted by DJ's Forever 21 and MyKill, expect some solid drink specials ($4 well drinks and $2 PBR's plus a free PINK shot for each guest) and quality tunes. The cover is only $3 and you can always expect good crowd (and plenty of fine young ladies) to show up every sunday.

Dub Mission

This weekly event is one of the longest-running (13 + years) dub and reggae parties around. Residents DJ Sep, J Boogie, Maneesh the Twister, Ludichris and Vinnie Esparza plus tons of special guests throw it down every Sunday night to an irie crowd upstairs at Elbo Room.

What's The Werd?

What's the Werd is a newer party at a newer venue which means it's got a head start at being FRESH. With an emphasis on minimal and tech house, resident dj's Nick Williams and Brandon Wade along with local tech and tech house guests keep the choons going every Sunday from 10-2. Free before 11p.

Monday
Risky Mondays
Happens: Every Monday

Ditch your case of the mondays at Ri$ky Mondays with the Ri$ky Bizne$$ Crew. DJs Ant-One, Sir Tipp, Eddie Raskel and Ruby Red I (along with special guest DJs) Spin the best in hip-hop, R&B, soul and funk. Legendary B-Boy Crews Rock Force and the Renegades are also in the house.

Sucker Punch

DJ's Rapid Fire and De Poirier spin Old Skool, Hip-Hop, Rap and 90's at this popular house party every week. This is quickly becoming one of those parties that makes you force yourself to get out on a Monday... The Transfer has been on fire lately with hot parties as well so this is a nice fit.

Tuesday
Change the Beat
Happens: Every Tuesday
Where: Madrone Lounge, 500 Divisidero
Local label, CB Records, changes s+#t up at this bumpin little Tuesday soiree. As they put on their flyer, the music is "Thug Jazz & Funk Rock from Around the World Layered with Dirty Instrumental Beats". Who wouldn't think that was cool? $2 red stripes, $3 shots of Jameson and no cover make it even cooler.

Wednesday
Qool

Where: 111 Minna Gallery, 111 Minna St. (duh!)
For over a decade, the fellas (and Jackie) from Looq records have been throwing a party like no other in the, well... world. Qool is a happy hour in an art gallery near downtown. Nothing special on the surface but when you add in killer dj's (both local and out of town guests) and a vibe that only the Qool crew can bring in, you have something solid indeed.

Every once in a while a huge band (like The Killers) will pop in for a surprise underplay performance. On the rare occasion a band isn't performing, the DJ' s command a packed out dance party all night long.

The Tubesteak Connection
Happens: Every Thursday
Where: Aunt Charlie's Lounge, 133 Turk St.
The Tubesteak Connection at Aunt Charlie's Lounge is a predominantly gay dance party. Focusing on the early 80's underground NYC vibe, DJ Bus Station John reaches deep into the crates to lay down the rarest of disco anthems. This isn't a hairy bear muscle party. Expect to see plenty of uber hip gay scenesters as well as a smattering of straight hipsters and there are always a group of sexy young ladies to be found in the mix. Drinks are stiff, the lights are very dim and the fog machine is always working overtime at The Tubesteak Connection.
