San Francisco never ceases to amaze us with its love for all things random and admittedly, a little weird. This year the people who brought us the How Weird Street Fair, Sea of Dreams and Harmony Festival are bringing us the first annual SuperHero Street Fair. On Saturday, July 25th from 1:00 p.m. until midnight, Indiana at Cesar Chavez will be taken over by the Supermans and Wonderwomans of San Francisco. The festival will be a celebration of outstanding individuals and organizations in the Bayview and San Francisco community who are contributing to the betterment of the arts and social communities. There will be an awards ceremony for those outstanding individuals and a portion from the proceeds from SuperHero will be distributed to help support some of the recipients.
GetWize: Get yourself to Thrift Town before all the SuperHero costumes in the kids' section get sold out and head over to the festival in your super couture. It's $10 donation to contribute if you have a costume on and $20 without. With music by Opulent Temple, Deep End, Sunset/Pacific Sound, Brass Tax Boombox, Symbiosis, Get YER freak On! and anonEvents AND everyone in superhero outfits, this street fair has all the makings of a new, classic SF event.
