The day before Coachella kicks off in Indio, one of the most anticipated acts will pack our city’s beloved Mezzanine with their psychedelic, industrial melodies once again. Aussies Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes of The Presets will be unveiling some of their latest creations right here in SF at Mezzanine on April 16th. Grab your tickets ASAP because this could be your last chance to catch The Presets in such an intimate venue, on the beginning of their tour.
After releasing two EPs in 2003 and 2004, their 2005 debut album, Beams, created a cult-like international following. In 2008, Apocalypso won The Presets “Best Dance Release” and “Album of the Year” at the ARIA Awards.
Set to release the Apocalypaso (Collectors Edition) album on May 5th in the U.S, their April tour plans to ramp up the fans. It’ll be a double-disc loaded with new tracks and brand spanking new remixes. The Presets create a sound on this album that bridges the gap between progressive electronica and 80’s industrial indie. Think: The Smiths meets VAST.
Stay tuned for an interview with The Presets at Coachella.
