The Village Bakery and Cafe recently opened its oven in the former L.A. Bread digs, just next to the driving range (where you can golf 9 holes for a handful of bucks) and Los Feliz Cafe. Founding co-owner and pastry chef of Eagle Rock's Auntie Em's Kitchen opened this new breakfast and lunch spot in Atwater Village, promising fresh baked bread and goodies made from scratch every morning. You can get Thanksgiving on a Bun, complete with the ensuing tryptophan coma for just $8.95. Plus fresh coffee, cinnamon buns, lemon cake (lemon, rosemary, olive oil cake—it's good!), almond bars, baguettes with preserves, and much more.

Get Wize: The Village Bakery and Cafe is located at 3119 Los Feliz Blvd. Open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 8:00am to 4:00pm, and Sundays, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
